Pac-Man Gets Caught

What would it look like if you could see behind the scenes of the popular game Pac-Man once the ghosts catch up to Pac-Man? Well, Mike Hardcore has a pretty good idea and was able to create a design so the rest of us could see it. It really explains why Pac-Man has been running away all these years so he doesn't get caught.

The design was created for the band A Day To Remember and the printed t-shirts have been sold on both the Warped Tour and in retail outlets. The original design is 100% hand drawn as is all of Mike Hardcore's artwork. He has a great portfolio that can be viewed on his Emptees profile and he is available for hire if you fancy his goods.

This post was guest written by Blake from You Design It, a site specializing in custom t-shirt printing.

Regal Clothing Co. - 25% Off And Free iPod Shuffles!

Hi there, Darren from Regal Clothing Co. here. Andy invited me along to talk about a few things that are happening with me.

Well... Where to start!? How about at the moment by using the discount code "SUMMER" you can save yourself 25% off your total order. And if that wasn't good enough for every order over £50 you'll be receiving a free 1GB iPod Shuffle. But enough of the bells and whistles and down to business.

May to July have been a really busy 3 months for me here. I've been selling more than I ever have and producing more and more designs... Here are just a few of my new t-shirts.

With the sad loss of MJ in June I decided to release (as did everybody it seems) a tribute t-shirt. I was a great lover of his music and as a DJ it gives me an excuse to play half an hour of his stuff a night. I tried to keep it short and sweet. "Who's Bad?" Simple but effective I thought.

Not only have we said good bye to MJ but also it's 80 years since the birth of Popeye, and in January this year the 70th year since his creator Elzie Crisler Segar passed away. Great news for designers all over europe as the copyright expired. Grab the only "80th Birthday" t-shirt out there today!

In other news, my new range of hoodies are arriving very soon and are avaialble to pre-order. Green, Orange, Red & White make for a striking and lovable collection. Embroidered on the left breast with my crown logo, you're not going to find any other hoodies like them...

July has also seen the additions of a few branches to the Regal Clothing Co. tree. Regal Boutique aimed specifically at girls has cute cosmetics, girl fit tees and skin care products. It's only small just now to see how things go but I'm really hoping that this will grow over the next year. Girls, check it out!

And finally you can now grab or add greeting cards to you orders, via the Effing Card Company another one of my stores.. On every Regal product page there is now a link where you can head over and pick the right card for any occasion.

Thanks to Andy for letting me gatecrash, it's been great talking about me!

See you all soon,

Darren x

Three Keyboard Cat Moon

This is what happens when memes collide.

We've discussed the Three Wolf Moon tee from Amazon at length here, and the chances are you're already aware of keyboard cat, but just in case, here's my favourite:

I'm starting to feel like I should change the name of this blog to "meme tees" or something.

The Shield Strike Team T-Shirt

Regular readers will know I have a deep-seated affection for gritty cop shows like The Wire and The Shield. Their complex characterisation, multi-layered plots, and ability to keep me on the edge of my seat for not just the length of the episode, but the duration of the series, makes these shows truly exceptional.

The Shield in particular fosters a sense of kinship with the lead characters, as we witnessed the four permanent Strike Team members battle adversity from all sides, all the while looking out for each other. At least, it started out that way...

In honour of my favourite TV show, I've knocked up these mockups of a t-shirt idea I had. You're probably familiar with the Experimental Jetset t-shirts which basically list four band members vertically in the helvetica typeface, and which have spawned countless parodies. This is yet another variation on that theme - although to signify the death of Curtis Lemansky in season 5 of The Shield, his name is in strikethrough text.

Thanks go to Liz of PopCultureTees, for suggesting the free Aviary software to use, and to Gigguli on flickr for the blank t-shirt template.

For the uninitiated, here's Vic Mackey doin' what he does best:

Summer Line At Electric Zombie

Kyle Crawford recently got in touch to let me know about the latest Electric Zombie releases. Sadly this sat idling in my inbox for a few days, as what he should have said to get my attention is "OMFG look, cool Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stuff!"

We all know that Michaelangelo loved pizza, but as we can see from this wittily titled "Don of the Dead" t-shirt, Donatello's favourite food was Krang.

Even Rocksteady gets the zombie treatment. These are executed perfectly, and the affection for the 80s source material is obvious. I'm not the biggest fan of the zombie trend, but I really like these.

This poster is badass, and a steal at just $1. Love it!

Wolf Power For Debbie Rowe

I've so far managed to keep this blog from being part of the MJ hype machine, but I couldn't miss the opportunity to print this pic of Debbie Rowe:

The newspapers are running the story about how the mother of two of Michael Jackson's children will fight for custody, and submit to a DNA test to prove maternity.

Perhaps her case will be assisted by the special powers of the Three Wolf Moon t-shirt she was snapped in yesterday?

Operation Jaque

In February 2002, Columbian presidential candidate Íngrid Betancourt was abducted by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia (FARC).

Six and a half years later she was rescued in a daring military operation nicknamed Operation Jaque.

The plan was to trick the FARC rebels into simply handing over the hostages without a shot being fired - the troops would need to convince the socialist rebels they were really members of a non-governmental organisation overseeing the transfer of the hostages to the FARC leader elsewhere in the Columbian jungle.

The preparation for the rescue mission was meticulous, with the military helicopter repainted and the soldiers disguised, to mimic earlier Venezuelan-led hostage handovers. The commandos took acting classes to convincingly pull off their roles as Red Cross workers, FARC rebels, as well as a fake TV journalist and cameraman.

What does this have to do with t-shirts? As a final reassurance to the hostage-taking rebels, two of the rescue party represented their mutual Marxist allegiance sartorially; fooling the Communists with t-shirts bearing the image of the most recognisable socialist revolutionary of all time - Che Guevara.

The plan went like clockwork, and Betancourt and her fellow hostages were soon in the rescue helicopter, with two of their FARC captors under arrest.
